Rolex Sea-Dweller 16660 Triple Six (Pre-Owned)

Rolex Sea-Dweller was developed for professional divers and has revolutionised the watch market with its performance and technology.

The Sea-Dweller was able to dive deeper than any previously produced watch. Due to new developed helium valve the inner pressure in the watch could be diminished faster during the decompression and thus the breaking of the watch glass could be avoided, which was the case with the Submariners.

Known as the “Triple Six” among collectors due to its reference number, the 16660 is what we call a transitional reference. Rolex first introduced the 16660 in 1978 as the second reference to join the saturation diving watch collection.

The 16660 is a significant model in the Sea-Dweller’s history because it brought about some key changes to the watch, such as sapphire glass, a new movement, quickset date functionality, and double the water-resistance.

This Rolex Sea-Dweller 16660 features a Mark IV Glossy Dial. The hands appear to be a later issue from service as well as the insert. 

The watch is supplied with its original box, punched papers, diving extension, link removal tool, anchor and additional links. 

The condition is rated 8/10 for vintage. The watch does appear previously polished and does exhibit signs of normal wear. A polish can be undertaken to remove the surface scratches.

Bracelet length measures 21cm excluding additional links which are included.
